high wind

It's great news that the impact on Houston seems to have been a little less than expected.

Based on Becca's photos, it looks like there were some substantial winds. The marina photos are striking.

It does not escape my attention that 1.5 yrs ago, Seattle experienced 40 - 50 mph winds, and I was without power for a week, and many others for 2 or 3 weeks - and people in Houston are getting power back already despite a hurricane! This does not say good things about Seattle.

I have just been hating work lately. My job specifically, but more generally, working. What I want is not a new job, but to retire. I suppose that's what everyone wants and what so few actually get until their health has deteriorated to the point that it's not all that great.
