i should have changed my fucking lock . . .

last night stephanie and i headed to q-cafe and met a bunch of ee's and other assorted folks. i'd gone out with these people before, and they're quite fun. anyway, the last time i went, i met a cute boy (shock, surprise). i thought we really hit it off and had hoped to see him again. however, i never did until friday night, about 2 months later. so we're chatting away and everything's grand until i find out two things: a) he's vegetarian b) he's still quasi-involved with some girl. i'm not sure which of these disturbed me more. meanwhile, i'd been blowing off this other interesting and reasonably attractive guy to talk to r.s.! i'm telling this story slightly tongue-in-cheek. a la fin, it was a fun night and i had a good time hanging out with the ee boys and dancing for a couple hours. dancing sober is never quite as much fun as dancing drunk because i'm all too aware of the fact that i'm repeating the same move over and over ad nauseam. anyway, i met one guy who's in my classes who seemed cool.

i took all my carless hallmates shopping today. i really quite enjoy doing this. i feel like some kind of benevolent granny tooling around in my oldsmobile with lots of enthusiastic grad students out doing their grocery shopping filling my seats.

dancing and e207b

today has been one of those homework days - the type one spends from morning until night doing homework that should have been done over the past week, but wasn't. not it's 1 am and tomorrow will be a partial homework day too. on the bright side, i think we actually did e207b mostly right - quite a miracle since it was all probability proofs and i don't know the first thing about probability. i want to know why georgia tech doesn't require a probability class!

i went to a dance class tonight. it was a lot of fun! i thought it would be torturous as i tend to be self-conscious about such things but it was great. there were more guys than girls, so i didn't have to worry about having someone to dance with, and while i certainly wasn't smooth, i think i kept up with the average competency level of the class. so this week i'll just have to practice a little bit. i'm taking the salsa and swing class.

so i guess it wasn't completely a homework day - i took a dance class break.
