This is so ridiculous. Are we kindegardners? Millions of Americans found adult ways to express their distaste for President Bu*sh - voting for Oba*ma, for example. (Yes, there are Amer*icans who would have preferred to throw shoes; I wouldn't "hail" them either.) Throwing shoes is symbolically violent - the wrong way to resolve one's problems, just as many believe invading other countries isn't the right strategy either.

An adult in sounds mind who throws shoes at a head of state should first lose their press pass - permanently, and then should be punished per the rule books on assaulting heads of state. I suspect the punishment is severe.
