American dream Entry:

American dream

There are so many inspirational stories of African runners, mostly Kenyan and Ethiopian, but of other nationalities as well. This is a great one. This guy had never been heard of, almost, but he wanted to provide for his family, and he ran a 2:12 marathon to do it. Amazing. Haile Gebres*elassie wrote hisstory in his own words - great article. My own personal favorite is Khalid Khannouchi, originally from Mor*roco. He came to the US with nothing, washed dishes and trained in NYC to make a living, trained by his wife, and set world records in the marathon. Among other things, he holds the American world record. To me, he is one epitomy of the Ameri*can dream. No matter how talented you are, training on your own with little money in NYC must take an incredible amount of dedication, willpower, and character.
