well, all, it's time for another riveting journal entry. grandma and i are enjoying cool upstate new york weather. we are reading books, chatting, playing cards, and watching a bit of the us open. yesterday we went shopping with my aunt and 14 year-old cousin. my cousin made me feel very old. when i informed her i had never been to a pacific sun store she asked in utter shock and amazement, "How???" she was stunned. this humored me slightly. anyway, she dates two football players and does all the things i never did.

shopping with her i realized how much my sense of fashion has been influenced by living in ireland (ie europe) and in a city. i gravitate toward sophisiticated stuff and black pants a la a-wear or express. i'd forgotten people wear totally different types of clothes - like surfwear or outdoorwear. well, we shall see what they wear in ca.
