poisonwood's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the way to the Aran Islands today i ran for the first time in a very long time - my last run was sometime in may. it was weird to run again. at first legs were itching like crazy. it was terrible. then my knees started hurting. then i started getting just plain old hot and tired. still, all in all, it wasn't a bad run. i did 3-miles down and up the mountain, slowly, but it's a hard enough run all the same. hopefully i can get back into the swing of things. i really want to run next year, since i'll be in such a perfect place. there shall be no more complaining about atlanta's traffic and smog. there is this computer i want. it exists only on paper - 2.26 gHz, 256Mb of ram, 17-in flat monitor, DVD drive, CD-RW drive, 40 gig hard drive - if a computer could turn me on, this would be the one. However, it exists only on paper .. . . (June 2002) Today has been an axpensive day. The ferry from Doolin was cancelled so we took a bus up to Galway and took a ferry from there. The crossinf was choppy enough with a few stomach-bending drops but I made it through without feeling nauseous. Karen and Liz were laughing at me on the boat - apparently they have stomachs of steel. Anyway, I keep thinking about the trip Maggie and I made here in December, which was something else. For some reason that life-changing Easter trip doesn't spring to mind nearly as often. Apparently John and Karen had quite a conversation. They seem to have talked about everything under the sun. 8:12 p.m. - 2002-08-21 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
