poisonwood's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- responsibility I find it disturbing that the US abstained from the resolution for a ceasefire. Yes, Is*rael had some good reasons to invade, just as one could argue there were good reasons to invade Ir*aq. At this point, given our extensive aid to Is*rael and our position in the UN, I'd say we are almost as responsible for the casualties there as if we had invaded ourselves. If you think the civilian casualties are justified given the rocket fire on Is*rael, that's great. However, as US citizens it's unacceptable to read the news and simply say, What is Is*rael is doing is terrible! I'm horrified by the loss of life! It would be more appropriate to say, I disagree with the way the invasion that I am partially responsible for is being conducted and wish we'd agree to an immediate ceasefire. 8:37 a.m. - Jan. 09, 2009 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IAT I decided to invest my time wisely and complete the Gen*der-Car*eer IA*T. My result was "Your data suggest a moderate association of Male with Career and Female with Family compared to Female with Career and Male with Family." It's interesting and only take a few minutes. I'd be curious how others compare. 5:27 p.m. - Jan. 08, 2009 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- outbreak You always hear about these disease outbreaks, but I never knew anyone affected before. Mae*ve's boyfriend has salmonella this time. Apparently it's extremely unpleasant. 1:47 p.m. - Jan. 08, 2009 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- nw flooding The current traffic map locally. 1:08 p.m. - Jan. 08, 2009 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
