the right to read

A bit of a frightening article.

the short end

This is pretty sick. There's a dramatic difference in coverage from when the children of the child-molesting mormons (sarcasm) were seized and their return and acknowledgement that the children are safe.

Do I approve of polygamy? NO. Of girls being married before age 18? No! (Heck - of girls being married before age 22 or 24 or so? Not really.) However, while many of these parents are probably less than ideal and this may be a less than desirable environment to raise children in, the trauma to these kids must be significant. Hindsight is 20/20, and it seems the authorities acted wrongly by seizing such a large number of children.

What's the solution? You've got me. I'm really not a fan of any kind of reclusive religious community, frankly. Women and girls always seem to get the short end of the stick.
